Why You Have To Pay Attention To What You Eat

To maintain a healthy lifestyle, you have to pay attention to what you eat. Having a healthy diet is an important aspect that you have to focus on if you want a body that feels good and looks good. A healthy eating habit should be developed to maintain a body that is free from diseases and stress. It's not about eating less but taking in all the nutrition your body needs to maintain an optimum health condition as well as maintain the best weight for your body type, height and age.
A healthy body would need the right amount and kind of nutrients to stay healthy always. Having a balanced diet that supplies all it needs would be the best way to keep it working at its best. For example, carbohydrate rich foods like rice, potatoes and pasta can provide you the energy you need for your daily activities. Carbohydrates are converted to calories, which are the energy units used by the body. If you don't get enough carbohydrates for your body, you will easily get tired and feel exhausted as you go on with the day. But you must also be careful in consuming carbohydrates rich foods because if taken excessively, the calories that are not converted to energy will be converted to fats. This will then be stored in your body tissues which can result in high cholesterol or even high blood pressure.
Fruits and vegetables on the other hand are rich in vitamins and minerals. These components are essential to the body because they aid essential body processes. For example, carrots provide vitamin A, which is needed by the retina to be able to function. The vitamin A found in carrots has also been proven to help prevent macular degeneration, a medical eye condition that can result to loss of vision. On another note, excessive food intake, such as too much consumption of carrots can result to a condition called Xanthaemia also known as Carotenaemia. It is a condition where the skin of the patient turns yellow or orange. The beta- carotene from the carrots is deposited in the skin because of its excessive intake. The condition is harmless but having an orange-colored skin is not at all attractive.
Eating the right foods is not at all what you need. You should also eat the right amount of these foods to be able to make sure that you get the best function they can provide. Having a nutrition intake that is less than what you need will definitely make your body feel unhealthy, stressed and always tired while having more than what is prescribed will cause medical conditions that you would not want to experience. Watching what you eat is important to maintain the healthy body that everyone is longing to attain.
A holistic healthy body is a collaboration of essential practices that you have to develop as a habit. To pay attention to what you eat is also paying attention not just to the kind of food you intake but also the amount of food you consume.

Achieve Your Goals - Keep Your Eyes On The Prize

Do the goals you set fail because you simply lose interest? Does your steely resolve, which seemed unbreakable when you set the goal, seem to just fizzle out and disappear? What happened? How do you stay focused on your goals and make it to the end?
The key is having a great end result to actually focus on. If you can stay focused on your end result you will get there. I can of course already hear you saying "So what? Tell me something I don't already know."
So, I will simply reply back to you, "If it's that easy then why aren't you doing it? Why do your goals curl up and die like leaves in late autumn?"
The problem often comes when your end result is not compelling enough, poorly visualised, too far distant, too vague, not actually what you want any more or simply too large to be realistic in your own mind. It can be just one or a combination of all these things, and many more, that can run you off the goal road and into the weeds of failure.
Take things a step at a time. Visualise fully a smaller or sub-goal that takes you along the larger route but is more attainable and controllable; a series of small victories to move you along to the big outcome. Give yourself rewards at each stage.
All the while you must keep in mind that overall goal. It is a real prize and when you win it by completing your goal it is a glorious and triumphant feeling.
"Eyes on the prize" is a fantastically useful mantra to repeat to yourself in many areas of your life. It is especially useful when trying to achieve a goal and an obstacle presents itself to block your way forward. This is where your self-talk comes to the rescue more often than not. The internal dialogue you have with yourself can help you or hinder you and the wonderful thing is that you get to choose the form of the dialogue.
Always keep your eyes on your prize and I wish you well on all your goal journeys.

You Are Unique and Special - Now Live That Way

Every one of us lives a unique life, filled with completely different experiences. Most of us experience relationships, both good and bad, we have friends, a career, financial freedom or debt, which either gives us freedom of choice or keeps us trapped in lives devoid of meaning. The quality of life each of us leads is directly proportional to the level of success we have managed to invite into our world. No matter where you find yourself, I am sure that you believe that there is far more you can achieve with your life.
We are wired for happiness
Your brain is wired to allow you to feel copious amounts of happiness, your body is wired to allow you to enjoy health and movement and your soul is wired to allow you to realise your unlimited potential. The challenge we face is that the society we live in is designed, exactly the opposite way. It robs us of all our natural programming.
There is an incredible amount of overwhelm all around, which steals our natural affinity to be happy, our bodies decline towards bad health as we place them under huge amounts of stress and neglect to use them for the movement they were designed for and finally we deny our potential because we doubt our ability and no long believe in ourselves. Come on it is time to allow yourself to enjoy the magnificent machine you inhabit. It can be your greatest asset or worst enemy if you allow. Choose to use it and it will serve you extremely well, choose to allow society and its demands to continue to abuse it and it will continue to let you down.
Societies Programming is all Wrong
We are explorers and creators, designed to continually expand and grow. Not to be trapped in steadfastness and stagnation. We have strong arms and legs and an enquiring mind, filled with questions. You only have to look around your world and see the eager expectation in the eye of our children, to know who you really are in this regard. Our children are filled with questions and always looking to expand and grow. Yes we grow older, but only stop asking questions and expanding, because of the negative pressures placed on us by society. It is time to awaken that questioning and expansive self and to open your mind once again.
Commit to on-going growth and expansion
There is so much to learn and so much growth and expansion available to you. Allow yourself to absorb and accept expansion once again. As you grow and expand, so too will everything in your world. Break away from the shackles, which are keeping you trapped and tethered to your manmade box and society's expectations. Dare to be who you really are and become all that you can be. Stop limiting yourself any longer and be all you were designed to be. You are wired for success, happiness and physical wellbeing, stop wasting another moment believing otherwise.
Remove the Contamination from your life
When you live in overwhelm and allow society's demands to cause you stress, your bodies biological response is similar to that you would see, if you used contaminated fuel in your car. The car's engine would splutter, overheat and if driven for too long, would even self-destruct. Wrestle back control of your life and remove the contamination from your experience. Accept happiness and wellbeing as your birth wright and no longer allow unhappiness to fill your body with stress hormones, which negatively impact your physiology and limit your thinking and performance.
Choose Happiness
Happiness is always a choice. It is time to make those few crucial shifts, which will allow you to invite happiness back into your life. The first step in this process is to realise and believe that this positive change is possible. You are not trapped or stuck in the life experience you now have. You are by no means locked into your current way of being. The body you enjoy by no means defines you and determines the type of life you will lead. Your thinking and belief in possibility is the only thing that will ultimately define you and the life you will lead.
You can Change
Everyone can change, if they believe they can and they choose to change. As soon as you stop buying into the limiting beliefs, which are restricting you and you accept that you truly are magnificent, your world will immediately change and you will see remarkable improvements in your life. What are you waiting for, do not waste another second on average and begin to live the happy, fulfilling life you deserve.

Little White Lies, True Health and Fitness

Let's talk a little bit about the little white lies we tell ourselves to give us the out, to talk ourselves into being okay with being heavy or to justify our absences from the gym. These little white lies hold us back from creating a healthy and fit body. So how do we take this way of thinking and change it? This is where we use your internal personal trainer. Stop telling yourself you are happy the way you are; expect more of yourself. Use the personal trainer you are developing within to squash the little white lies, including the lie that you are happy with who you are if you are fat.
There is nothing happy about being fat or obese and not being able to control your eating habits or weight. If you are truly happy, I guarantee you would be happier if you lost the weight, because no one wants to carry around an extra 50 or 100 pounds everywhere they go. I know this because if you gave a person who is fit an extra 50 or 100 pounds to carry around everywhere they went, they would be very unhappy. Saying you are happy with who you are or happy with being heavy is a cop-out, and since we're talking about little white lies, I'm going to call you out on it bluntly.
I know you would be happier not carrying the extra weight around because not only is the weight a physical burden, but it exposes you to prejudice every day of your life. And being judged (negatively) everywhere you go about the way you look cannot make anyone happy. It's a fact of life in our society that there are prejudices about people who are overweight. They are considered lazy, greedy, weak, and/or lacking willpower or self-control. People do not look at fat people and say to themselves, "I know she's beautiful inside." As human beings, our reactions to visual stimuli are thoughts that appraise or judge the form, without an immediate filter of political correctness. So I'm not going to talk about obesity in a politically correct way. I'm not going to mince words in order to save you a little embarrassment, because my goal is to encourage you to be accountable for your negative or unhealthy habits.
So now that we've dispensed with the use of little white lies to accept our extra weight, let's discuss how we can use the little white lies for motivation. If we return to the idea of self-assessment, we can use our imaginations to envision the fitter and leaner self we desire, and then we can create and write down some little white lies to help us with the process. For example, if you envision the way your face will look without excess weight, you might say, I love my beautiful, pronounced cheekbones. It is a little white lie, but one that can motivate us into creating a positive self-image. It's a projection of where we are going. Those little white lies are a forecast of the end of your journey, and they are important because they start the process of changing the mind. Telling yourself you are beautiful during your assessment because you can see a slender person who is not obese in your mind's eye creates a positive change.
These little white lies can help create a detailed positive image that, once created, can lead to more positive thoughts. Let's say you are imagining your arms are smaller, your face is more sculpted, your thighs are thinner, and then you can imagine the smaller person within. If you can imagine the person within as a stronger person, you will become stronger. We become what we imagine; we will become what our mind's eye sees. This is a great strategy to use even before setting goals because during the journey this is exactly what's happening. As you are losing weight you are becoming stronger. The simple fact that you are exercising will help to compact the bones in your body which will make your bone density stronger. Not having to carry around the extra weight will make you more flexible, more mobile, and even faster.
Telling yourself this ahead of time, before it actually happens, allows you to create that positive foundation we discussed earlier. Moreover, your mind will become stronger. At the end of your journey when your body is stronger, you are carrying around less weight, your muscles are showing, and your body is sculpted, your mind will be stronger. This can be for many people a complete transformation of a former self. Imagine you are the caterpillar who is beautiful -- fat and chunky-- but still beautiful. The caterpillar is carrying more weight in order to make it through its metamorphosis in the cocoon. That caterpillar then emerges as a lightweight, sleek butterfly. The butterfly that was once the caterpillar shows a significant change and so will you.
